First of all, WATCH OUT:
The registration/activation/forgot-my-password emails seem to ALL go straight into the SPAM FOLDERS of many email accounts… ;(
So, please make sure to check your Spam folder, after you did any of those activities!
HOW THE SITE WORKS:
* join any GROUP that interests you
* each GROUP has its own FORUMS
(Slightly counterintuitive, but: after you click a GROUP’s name, you still have to click that little FORUM link to see all FORUM Topics! Otherwise you only see that Group’s WALL (with any & all entries, incl. ALL Forum entries))
* you could post on the (general) WALL of a group, or, start/continue a specific topic in a FORUM thread of a group… (Click on NEW TOPIC for the latter)
Example: make the name of the new forum topic a musician you really like…
* you can add Flickr (pictures) & a YouTube Video to your Profile! => MyAccount/Settings/Flickr Youtube
* tagging other members with the “@” symbol right in front of their username works just like on Facebook & Twitter
(BUT: has to be their USERNAME, NOT the regular name.
=> You find the username by simply hovering your mouse over that user’s name or profile image.
You then see the username at the BOTTOM of your browser!)
UPLOADING YOUR AVATAR PIC:
Just go to My Account/Profile/Change Avatar.
(Currently a bug in registration process; can not upload it then.)
HOW TO EMBED A YOUTUBE VIDEO (no matter where on this site):
All you have to do is add the YouTube Link you want to share on its own line in the text area and, voila, the video will automatically show up.
For example, you would simply write:
This is awesome!
YOUR-FULL-YOUTUBE-URL-HERE
And another text comment here, if you’d like.
HOW TO SHARE AUDIO:
OPTION 1: get a free Soundcloud.com account (free up to 2 hours of uploads).
Then take your soundcloud song link and embed it in a WALL POST (will NOT work in FORUMS, sorry), by using the “add videos” icon (between link & camera icon, right underneath the posting area).
(Yes, it says “Paste video URL here”, but it WILL work also with the soundcloud link!)
OPTION 2: take your audio & turn it into a (YouTube) VIDEO.
You could use free screen-capture software like CamStudio for it. Or get fancy with Animoto.com or similar. This way, you COULD embed your Audio in FORUM POSTS also (but as a YouTube VIDEO…).
SOME SIMPLE “GROUND RULES” FOR USING THIS SITE:
Rule #1: BE NICE OR LEAVE! And please keep your choice of language civilized.

Other: No Spamming!!!
Please don’t send messages to other members advertising your CD or the like.
Other other: we run and pay for this site, and as such, if needed, reserve the right to ban any member from this site without warning, if he/she doesn’t act in line with our simple “ground rules”.
Same deal with neverending posts/stories/sagas about ‘why Jimmy’s post got deleted…, blablabla’.
If some people get sidetracked (jazz site, remember?) or mistake this for a battle field, we will just delete their posts and ban them from the site. Period.
Simply don’t have time for that stuff…
